Leszek Maciaszek
Leszek currently resides at Macquarie University as an associate Professor. Although he has received fame for his many publications, his real achievement lies in the creation of PCBMER.
Now known worldwide, PCBMER radically changed the way people designed software systems. PCBMER tackles the three main issues of making software: understandable, maintainable, and scalable. The separation of software into six main layers great interest in his work during the early 90s, however it was not till the rapid application of java that Leszek gained prominence in System Design circles.
Between 1981 and 1984, he worked as an Associate Professor at Kuwait University.
Prior to joining Macquarie University in 1991, he was a Senior Lecturer at the University of Wollongong (1985 - 90).
He authored in excess of 100 publications, including books "Database Design and Implementation" (Prentice Hall, 1990, "Requirements Analysis and Systems Design", 2nd ed (Addison-Wesley 2004) and "Practical Software Engineering" (Addison-Wesley 2004).
His latest Addison-Wesley books “Requirements Analysis and System Design” and “Practical Software Engineering” were translated to Chinese, Russian and Italian.
For ten years (1994 - 2004) he was the owner and director of a software consultancy business MACOMP Software.
He specializes in enterprise information systems, databases, object technology, and software engineering.
Working in while at Macquarie University, Leszek aims to create a framework that will allow almost anyone to develop their own applications.
