Leslie Jay Bosch
Leslie Jay Bosch (Los Angeles, 1978) graduated from Art Center College of Design, Pasadena in 2001 and earned a Bachelor of Fine Art. Her focus in art school was on sculpture and environmental design. It was during this time that she began her Spoonlamps© series and when her explorations in functional art, specifically lighting design, began. Along with sculpture and environmental design, photography has always been an important medium for her artistic expressions. She often found herself snapping photographs while making sculptures or installations and realized that the process of photography held its own interest for her.
Since graduation, she continued her education in Fine Art under the mentorship of artist Cheri Pann. Through ceramics, an ancient and traditionally functional medium, she has continued to explore with light through a series called Luminart as well as other functional forms. Clay is also a wonderful medium for creating three dimensional images of the human form; a subject matter Leslie Jay Bosch enjoys returning to as an underlying theme connecting all other subjects in sculptural work.
Currently working as a freelance photographer with subjects ranging from landscapes and architecture to portraits and wildlife. Clients include well-known landscape designer Jay Griffith and various construction companies and real estate agents in the Greater Los Angeles area. Her photographs have been published in diverse publications, including Western Interiors & Design and Garden Design magazines, American Airlines inflight magazine and The Argonaut.
