Leonardo Facco

Leonardo Facco (born Treviglio (Bergamo), 3 April 1964) is an Italian journalist, a libertarian publisher, owner and founder of Leonardo Facco Editore publishing house, co-founder and Managing Director of the Movimento Libertario.

He is the only member for Italy of the Templeton Freedom Awards.

He is also a book author, a web teacher of the Libera Università del web , an actor and a musician.

The journalistic activity

Leonardo Facco is member of the order of professional italian journalists.

Collaborator with two at a provincial weekly in the late 80s and early 90s (Il Giornale dell'Adda in the Province of Bergamo) and a monthly Il Punto.

Collaborator in drawing up the cultural magazine Bergamo & Dintorni (Cose d'Italia publisher) in the 1991-1992 period, and for Commentari (Pascal publisher) a monthly magazine of political and economic culture in the 1993.

Collaborator of the cultural magazine Quaderni Padani from 1994.

Collaborator of the cultural magazine Federalismo & Libertà (Il Fenicottero publisher, Bologna).

Creator, director and editor of 45° Parallelo a monthly magazine of culture and politics of Lower Bergamo from 1994 to 1996.

Publisher and editor of Zeduro, annual satirical review in Treviglio from 1994 to 1995, as well as creator and editor of Il federalismo bergamasco, a monthly political magazine.

In September 1999 he was nominated Head service of writing culture, sports and entertainment of the newspaper La Padania.

Creator and host of two television sports programs at local private broadcasters (Stv1 Treviglio, Tele Sol Regina (Cremona) from 1987 to 1989.

Creator and host of Bergamo, Padania, a program created for the italian Northern League of Bergamo and Stv1 Treviglio.

Founder and Director of the news in Action Radio from June 1997 to March 1999.

Employee of the newscast Telepadania from October 1998 to March 1999.

The role in the Movimento Libertario

After he leaving the political collaboration with italian Northern League (Lega Nord), in the late 90s of XX century, Leonardo Facco is dedicated to the dissemination of thought anarcho-capitalist libertarianism.

The Movimento Libertario was originally an Italian cultural association for the dissemination of libertarianism.

As a cultural association, the Movimento Libertario began on September 24, 2005, in Treviglio with the writing of the "Manifesto and Constitution of the Libertarian Movement" by Leonardo Facco.

In September 2007, Leonardo Facco with Giorgio Fidenato and Marcello Mazzilli have founded officially the Movimento Libertario as an Italian libertarian political subject in order to defend life, liberty and property of each individual within a strong liberist system of free market, against any kind of aggression and/or coercion .

The activity of the movement is the spread of freedom culture: meetings, debates, on the web, and with conferences and publications.

From 2007 Leonardo Facco is a Managing Director of the Association, he actually represents (in according to the statute and to the internal democracy of members of Association) the Movimento Libertario in their official activity.

Leonardo Facco Editore

Leonardo Facco, thanks to the encounter with the most important italian libertarian thinkers (Carlo Lottieri, Alberto Mingardi, Carlo Stagnaro, Guglielmo Piombini, Nicola Iannello) founded in 1996 in Treviglio the Leonardo Facco Editore an indipendent publishing house.

It works to spread the concepts about the defense of liberty, property and people's lives that they are threatened daily by the actions of states, governments and public authorities.

The published books dealing history, sociology, political science and issues related the ecology of the market.

Leonardo Facco Editore periodically publish two magazines: The Sheets of Enclave and the magazine Enclave which give space to various political issues, cultural, social and economic libertarian world Italian and international.

The Sheets of Enclave is a free bimonthly publication, while the magazine Enclave is a quarterly libertarian magazine, founded in March 1998, available by subscription.

In January 2010, Leonardo Facco, co-founder and Managing Director of the Association, announced the intention to delegate ownership of his publishing company to the Movimento Libertario, in order to promote the continuity in the future of the activities of the movement by ensuring private self-financing through the sale of books and content published.

Book author

Leonardo Facco is author of two books of musical character: Primates and First tracks of Rock.

He is co-author and publisher of the books Being federalist written with Giacomo Stucchi and with Lacurd van Hord Secession: a victory on penalties (a narrative satire tale).

Leonardo Facco is also the author of the books: Once upon a time the "Che". Ernesto Guevara, another history, and She is called Rigoberta Menchù. A controversial Nobel Peace Prize .

In May 2009, Leonardo Facco has published his book Eulogy of the tax evader. If taxes are a theft, is a legitimate defense not pay.

Leonardo Facco with Massimo Pongolini and Stephanie Lewis has realized the theatre show Taxes are a beautiful thing (so they say) that it was represented in Treviglio in November 2009 and will be replicated in Milan in March 2010.
