Lee McCutcheon (born 17 February 1977 in Surrey) is a British songwriter, composer and producer.

Career

Lee began his career in music at 16 years old as a programmer, sound engineer and music editor at Skratch Studios in Surrey where he worked with a range of artists including Boyzone, Tom Jones and José Carreras. During this period, he also engineered and programmed on a number of Andrew Lloyd Webber musical albums including Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and the motion picture versions of Evita and Phantom Of The Opera.

In 2003 Lee re-located to Los Angeles, along with the Skratch Studios team, to work on the music for Season 2 of American Idol. Lee went on to record and mix "Bridge Over Troubled Water" on the double A side single of Runner Up Clay Aiken, which won the Billboard Award for the Best-Selling single of 2003, selling 948,000 copies and entering at number 1 on the Billboard hot 100 chart.

Lee departed Skratch Studios in 2005.

In 2007 Lee wrote and produced a large number of songs and cues for the Series 1 DVD of Brian Elsley's Channel 4 teen drama Skins. The album sold over 2 million copies world wide, reaching number 1 on the Billboard Album Chart. The album also became the first Cast Recording to take the Official UK number 1 album position in 16 years, the last being the soundtrack of the motion picture Evita, on which Lee was a Music Editor and programmer.
