Lauren Mackler

Lauren Mackler (born November 8, 1957) is a renowned American coach, motivational speaker and author. She is the author of the international bestseller Solemate: Master the Art of Aloneness & Transform Your Life and a contributing author of Speaking of Success with Jack Canfield, Stephen Covey, Garrison Wynn and Ken Blanchard. In 2001, Mackler founded Lauren Mackler & Associates (LMA), offering coaching programs and workshops that help individuals unleash their greatest potential in their personal lives, careers, and relationships. Other LMA services include motivational speaking presentations, executive coaching, and leadership programs that help corporate leaders build high-performance, people-centric organizations.

Biography

Over the past 25 years, Mackler has been a mind-body psychotherapist, workshop facilitator, corporate executive, consultant, coach, and a leading authority in the areas of personal transformation, relationships, and professional performance. Mackler began her first career in the entertainment industry in 1978 and graduated from The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in 1982. She worked as a TV host with Matt Lauer on the PM Magazine television show and as a vocalist with the recording group Tuxedo Junction. She left the entertainment field in 1982 to pursue a career in the personal-development and holistic healing fields. In 1981, Mackler married a German physician, with whom she had two children. They divorced in 1997.

Career

Mackler began facilitating holistic healing workshops in 1982 for people with chronic pain and life-threatening illnesses with her then-husband, an M.D. specialized in holistic medicine. She studied Breath Therapy in India and completed training in Craniosacral Therapy. In 1988, Mackler moved to Germany, where she received Masters-level German certification in Psychotherapeutic Counseling at the Tao Center in Munich, Germany in 1994 and worked as a mind-body psychotherapist. She returned to the U.S. in 1995 and attended Lesley University, where she graduated with an American Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Organizational Development in 1998.

Prior to founding Lauren Mackler & Associates, Mackler worked as a coach and consultant at Right Management Consultants, served as Vice President of Learning & Organizational Development at Boston Financial, and led Arthur Andersen's New England People Strategy & Human Resources Management consulting practice. Following the events of 9/11, Mackler felt compelled to use her background in psychology and business to start a company committed to human transformation. She founded Lauren Mackler & Associates in October, 2001.

Mackler frequently appears as a motivational speaker and is a member of the National Speaker's Association. She is a guest lecturer at Brandeis University and served as an adjunct faculty member at Northeastern University. Mackler is the host of the weekly Life Keys radio show on [htt://www.hayhouseradio.com]. Considered a leading expert in human behavior, relationships, and transformational leadership, she has been interviewed by CNN, Fox TV, The Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, Money Magazine, SmartMoney, Living Fit Magazine, Boston Magazine, Marie Claire Magazine, and numerous other radio and media outlets. She was featured in Vitals Magazine as one of the top five coaches in the United States and by Boston Magazine as one of Boston’s top two coaches.
