Larry Rott
Larry Rott (born December 24, 1959 in Detroit Michigan) is an American bassist. He began music studies at 9 years old on Cello, switching to Upright and Electric bass in his teens. He comes from a family of musicians, composers & producers, one of whom worked with The Beatles and other marjor artists during Pop Music’s heyday.
Rott's somewhat of an enigma. For a guy with a "straight job" he's managed to tour internationally and play with known artists such as Jon Brion, Clem Burke, Tom Fowler, Jack Le Compte, John Molo, Michael Penn, Elvis Perkins, Kazuo Takeda (Felix Pappalardi) and Blues Creation. His sensitive bass playing can be heard on two debut artist's records released in 2007: Elvis Perkins’ XL Recordings “Ash Wednesday” and John Slade’s “Boomer Town”.
Rott's home base is in Los Angeles where he gigs regularly. -Claire Madsen
