Lady Catherine Amery
Lady Catherine Amery (November 19,1926-1991) was the second daughter of the British politician and publisher Harold Macmillan, 1st Earl of Stockton and his wife, the former Lady Dorothy Cavendish.
She married the politician Julian Amery in 1950. They had four children:
- The Honourable Caroline Louise Michelle Amery (1951 - ).
- The Honourable Theresa Catherine Roxane Amery (1954 - ). Married John Harvey Boteler.
- The Honourable Alexandra Elizabeth Charmian Amery (1956 - ).
- The Honourable Leopold Harold Hamer Amery (1956 - ).
Her widower was created Lord Amery of Lustleigh, a year after her death. He died in 1996.
Uncle
On 26 November 1950, her maternal uncle Edward Cavendish, the 10th Duke of Devonshire had a heart attack and was attended by John Bodkin Adams, the suspected serial killer, who was present when he died. 13 days before, Mrs Edith Alice Morrell, another patient of Adams, also died. Adams was tried in 1957 for her [...] but acquitted. Home office pathologist Francis Camps linked Adams to 163 suspicious deaths in total.
