LacyJane Folger
LacyJane Folger (born April 26, 1989) is an American beauty pageant titleholder from Farmington, New Hampshire. She was crowned Miss Boston 2009, named the People's Choice winner at Miss Massachusetts 2009, and won the title of Miss New Hampshire USA 2011.
Pageant career
Folger began competing in beauty pageants when she was five years old.<ref name="fost110623"/> In her first pageant, New England Model Star, she was named overall winner.<ref name="fost101010"/> As an adult, she won the title of Miss Hampton Beach 2008 and a was runner-up in the Miss Manchester 2008 pageant.<ref name="seco080729"/><ref name="msnh08"/>
Folger was crowned Miss Boston 2009, which earned her a spot in the Miss Massachusetts pageant.<ref name="msboston"/><ref name="bosg091208"/><ref name="missmass"/> She competed on a platform dubbed "Sharing the Power of a Wish" for her work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and performed a song during the talent judging.<ref name="msamma09"/> She did not win the crown but she was named the People's Choice winner in the statewide competition.<ref name="tftj1"/>
In September 2010, Folger was named Miss Congeniality and crowned as the winner of the 2011 Miss New Hampshire USA pageant.<ref name="fost101010"/><ref name="msnhus11"/> She represented her state in the Miss USA 2011 pageant in June 2011. Oddsmakers from the Wynn Las Vegas casino placed Folger's chance of winning the competition at 100-1.<ref name="bzin110618"/><ref name="lvsn110611"/> Folger did not place among the Top 16 finalists.<ref name="fost110623"/><ref name="msus2011"/>
Personal life and education
Folger was born in Farmington, New Hampshire, to Tammy and Richard Folger, Jr.<ref name="fost141019"/> She is the youngest of four siblings, including three older brothers.<ref name="fost110516"/> Folger attended Farmington Elementary and Henry Wilson Memorial School in Farmington.<ref name="fost101010"/> She is a 2006 graduate of Seacoast Christian High School in South Berwick, Maine.<ref name="fost060703"/>
Folger is a May 2010 graduate of Wheelock College in Boston where she earned a double bachelors's degree in Human Development and Child Life with a focus in psychology.<ref name="missmass"/><ref name="whlk110520"/> As a graduate student, she was named the Elizabeth Wold Alumni Scholar and the Betsy Wilson Endowed Visiting Health Lecturer and Student Scholar.<ref name="whlkfa10"/> She received her master's degree from Wheelock College in May 2011.<ref name="fost110516"/>
