Founded in 2002 by Vivake Gupta, Luke Flemmer, and Daniel Chait, Lab49 was acquired by Corpus, Inc at the end of 2005 and is now the Financial Services division of Corpus, Inc. The firm is headquartered in New York City. On July 24th, 2006, Lab49 opened an office in London.

Lab49 has been prototyping and applying Microsoft's Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) to financial applications since its introduction.
