La Vesper
La Vesper is a rock band from Caracas, Venezuela. They formed in the year 2010 by long-time friends Giandomenico Angelone (main voice, guitar), Bruno Romano (guitar, backup vocals), Juan Andrés "baSSura" Marín (bass guitar, backup vocals) and Daniel Ostili (drums, backup vocals). These four guys met several times and became friends while playing in the local clubs, playing with both their former bands: Capo and Noveno Día.
History
Capo was a Caracas-based band that played a North American Hard Rock style. Giandomenico, Daniel and Gabriel shared their respective duties playing their instruments. They shared countless gigs with another local band called Noveno Día, where Juan and Bruno played both their instruments as well. After a couple of split decisions between Noveno Día's band members, the group separated into a short-lived jazz quartet where only Juan and Bruno remained playing together, along with a drummer and a singer. A final misunderstanding between them led Bruno to pick up the bass guitar and join Capo's line-up as a bass player (circa June 2010). This line-up didn't last for long because Gabriel chose to quit the band in order to finish his engineering studies, and he was replaced by Bruno playing his all-time native instrument. In January 2010, and after a quick call to Juan, La Vesper was officially founded.
The band started by playing some re-arranged Capo songs, and then composed new themes and melodies. Around March 2011, the band consulted a well known producer, Rudy Pagliuca, Malanga's guitar player and multiple times nominee for the Latin Grammy Award with his work, including records by La Vida Bohème and Viniloversus among others. Their incomplete demo songs led to the conclusion that the band was not ready to start recording a full-length album, so for the next six months La Vesper entered the studio to compose new songs, while they still kept playing in the local clubs to keep gaining followers. Close to octobre 2011, the band once again consulted Rudy Pagliuca, and the production process for their first album started, with included collaborations from Henry D'Arthenay (La Vida Bohème's lead singer) and Eguzki Fernández.
"El Mundo Cambió" (spanish translation for "The World Changed") was the chosen name for this album. It was mixed by Leonel Carmona (drummer for Entrenos) and mastered in Argentina by the Latin Grammy Award and Premios Gardel in Audio Engineering multiple times winner Andrés Mayo. This album will be officially released during the first semester of 2013.
One big step for the band was qualifying for the first band circuit in the Festival Nuevas Bandas on June 20, 2012, where they shared the scenario with other well known bands such as Espiral Jack, Fuego Montevideo, La Mar, Cindy López and Trémolo Violenta. Despite they didn't win the pass to the final gig during the main event, this performance gave them a big leap into participating as radio guests in several radio shows around the country, as well as internet radios.
La Vesper is well known for being in constant contact with their followers through their social networks (Facebook, Twitter and SoundCloud. Included among other interactions, you can find random raffles with the main price being a special edition record, sticker, item or even special guest participations in their gigs and videos, such as the one recently recorded by the venezuelan director Carlos Beltrán for their song "Gourami".
