L-Charge
L-Charge is start-up focused on building a scalable network of the off-grid EV chargers. The company produces chargers for electric vehicles based on “super fast” off-grid solutions (120-2000kW). The company was established in November 2020 by Dmitry Lashin (co-owner of FITO Group).
Products
# Stationary charging module (fixed) - for highways, parking, road infrastructure, shopping centers, fuel stations (350-2000kW). It could charge for 100km in 2-4 min up to 4 cars simultaneously.
# Mobile truck-based charging modules. L-Charge mobile station is a truck with a set of equipment installed on board that operates on the principle of a gas power plant. This mobile EV-charger is a mini-power station for fast charging of electric vehicle that can charge any electric car for 100 km in 5-10 minutes (120-250kW). One mobile L-Charge unit can autonomously charge 25 electric cars per day.
# Autopilot charging boat. For charging electric boats in harbors and marinas (from 250kW).
Technology
The chargers use RNG (renewable natural gas), LNG (liquefied natural gas), CNG (compressed natural gas) or H2 (hydrogen) to generate power. The main feature of the L-Charge solution is the ability to shift using fuel without big hardware changes. Shifting makes depends of availability and cost effectiveness. With different types of fuels it is possible to reduce the emission:
# With RNG (bio methane) we can be from ZERO to negative CO2 emission.
# With H2 we emit zero CO2.
# With LNG/CNG emit 3 times less CO2 per 100km of charge than diesel cars.
History
November 2020 - the company was established and started to work on development of the first working prototype of a mobile EV-charging station.
July 2021 - the working prototype of a mobile EV-charging station was revealed to media.
August 2021 - partnership with Porsche was established - L-Charge participated in Porsche’s off-site events featuring electric vehicles.
August-September 2021 - a pilot test of the mobile EV-charging service on-demand in urban areas (average number of calls 20-30 per day).
September 2021 - the company received its first investments in the amount of $ 1.5 million.
September 2021 - the company participated at the GasTech 2021 in Dubai.
October 2021 - the company signed a cooperation agreement with INNIO Jenbacher (an Austrian company became a supplier of gas equipment for using hydrogen at L-Charge’s charging stations).
October 2021 - European roadshow - a long-lasting tour across a number of major European countries: Germany, Spain, France, Holland. During the promotional tour, the mobile EV-charging station was demonstrated at exhibitions: Smarter Europe (Munich), Green Auto Summit (Stuttgart). Three presentations for investors and partners: Barcelona (negotiating with the investor), Madrid (partnership with the ECO City Madrid dealership), Paris (solution presented to RATP, Paris public transport operator - the company is considering using L-Charge EV-charging stations for the development of the fleet of electric buses).
November 2021 - the company started negotiations with the two largest automakers in Germany (at the stage of signing an agreement).
December 2021 - plans to bring mobile EV-charging station for electric vehicles to London in 2022 were announced.
December 2021 - the development of an unmanned mobile floating charging station to ensure the electrification of water transport was announced.
