KVBC-TV

KVBC-TV LP channel 13.1 (call letters meaning: Ventura Broadcasting Company) has served as The Primary affiliate of the MeTV Network, for the Fresno DMA (ranked 54th nationally), since 2011. Chicago, IL based MeTV is the highest rated national network for classic shows and entertainment, and covers almost 90% of the Country with other local affiliates.

The locally owned station is operated by the Ventura Broadcasting Company, of Fresno.

KVBC also broadcasts and operates many other digital subchannels, like 13.2 through 13.10, carrying more popular national programming for the Fresno market, from networks like Justice (on 13.5), Heartland (on 13.2), Retro TV (on 13.4) and YouToo America (on 13.6).

The station produces local shows like Connect With Me, an hour long LIVE news style magazine, guest driven and call-in program, airing from 10-11a.m., on 13.1 MeTV, every weekday morning from the Ventura studios in downtown Fresno. Broadcast Veteran John Malos, former evening anchor at cross-town station, KMPH Fox 26, now serves as the host and executive producer.

Daily one minute long local weather reports, titled "First Alert NO-WAIT Weather, with Austin Reed" are shown weeknights between 6 and 10p.m., on MeTV and most of the other digital subchannels of KVBC.

The stations also produce weekly news-style packages and InterViews, plus public service announcement messages, with area law enforcement and local non-profit groups. The Two-minute-long segment is called "Local Choice, with Austin Reed" and is primarily for the Justice Network, on KVBC 13.5, but also airs on other Ventura subchannels throughout the week.

KVBC was launched in 2014 and is co-owned by Mark Shirin, of Ventura TV and Video Appliance. Ventura Broadcasting Company is a joint venture of Ventura TV and Video Appliance. The stations (now, 24 in all) operate out of the store, with separate HD studios, master control and sales offices, upstairs.

Ventura Broadcasting Company also operates low power stations: KVHF channel 4.1 and KBID channel 31.1 (both of these stations also have many digital subchannels and provide other local programming, with more national and International networks, similar to KVBC'S lineup), for the Fresno DMA.

Ara Catchatoorian is the station's Creative Services Director. Leon Eskijian serves as Chief of Master Control and Engineering. Host/Spokesperson Austin Reed is the station's Community Projects Director. Mark Shirin is General Manager/Vice President.

KVBC 13.1 simulcasts the MeTV Fresno feed, on KGMC-DT 43.6 (a Gary Cocola owned full-power station in Fresno).

The MeTV channel (KVBC 13.1/KGMC 43.6) is also available on Comcast 375 and Northland Cable channels 2 and 9. Negotiations are currently taking place to add more coverage for not just the MeTV affiliate, but other Ventura channels too.

All other stations and subchannels (24 in all), operated by Ventura are only available with an antenna, on free over-the-air digital television.
