Krushed & Sorted

Krushed 'n Sorted, also known as Roach and Fletcher respectively, are two of South Africa's leading alternative musicians. They started djing together in 1997 after the demise of Roach's record shop Solid Records. In 1999 they started a studio to produce their own music, and in 2000 founded their record label African Dope, launching the label with their own debut album "Acid (TM) Made Me Do It" on 18 April 2000. the label also features many other alternative electronica artists such as Felix Laband, Moodphase5ive, Kalahari Surfers, The Real Estate Agents], The Constructus Corporation, Markus Wormstorm and Sibot. All of these album releases were mixed and mastered by Krushed & Sorted, although they haven't released any music of their own subsequent to "Acid"

Their music is a fusion of many music generes, ranging from Breakbeat, Lounge, Drum & Bass, Reggae, Dub and finally Kwaito (A local South African genre which originates from the streets of Soweto during Apartheid). The group is anti-commercial, and has a selective target audience, which they call 'headz'. Despite this, they have headlined most of South Africa's biggest festivals (Oppikoppi, Rustlers Valley, Flux Festival), toured The Czech Republic, Belgium and The Netherlands, appearing at festivals like Pukkelpop and Solipse Zambia (2001). They were also official support for Basement Jaxx's 2006 tour of South Africa.

In 2006 they unbundled their studio from the record label and started Krushed & Sorted Studios cc, based in Cape Town's Bo-Kaap Malay Quarter. The label's sporadic email newsletter keeps hinting at new releases from the duo, but a steady output from DJ Dope (aka Fletcher) notwithstanding, nothing new has materialised.
