King vs. Queen
King vs. Queen is the debut album of indie rock group Brighten, released on March 20, 2007.
Overview
The album was originally slated for release in fall 2006, but was pushed back. After a few more months of struggling to get a release date, Brighten got one. However, before the album's intended release, Victory Records sued Carbon Copy Media (Brighten's then current label). Directly because of this, Brighten decided to go independent from Victory. They self-released the first 9 tracks for personal sale on tour. On March 20, 2007, King vs. Queen was released to retail stores across the US without the band's knowledge. This happened because Carbon Copy had printed up thousands of copies of the CD before they got sued. Once Brighten was aware of this, they were able to get the CD pulled from stores. Only a limited number of these CDs are now available (even though you can still buy it on Victory's webstore) and were printed on Carbon Copy Media.
This CD includes re-recorded songs from the EP Ready When You Are, "Ready When You Are" and "Television".
