Killio
Killio is a rapper of great renown, hailing from Fenstad, a small town in the eastern part of Norway.
Music
Killio started writing rap lyrics sometime during 2006, and he soon invested in a home studio consisting of a microphone and a computer program for recording and mixing vocals and instruments. During the first few months, he spent most of his spare time writing and recording what would eventually be his first song. At the time, only his family and closest friends were aware of his descent into the world of hip-hop, but in The Spring of 2007, Killio created an account on the popular Norwegian net community called Nettby in an effort to promote and distribute his music. It was on Nettby he published his first song, Tilbake (Back), which became a big hit.
During the spring and early summer of 2007, Killio took a break from writing, instead opting to perform at arrangements and parties all over Akershus. He held his biggest concert on June 22,2007, at Eidsvoll Videregående Skole, a high school in Akershus with approximately one thousand students and employees. Due to heavy touring his fans grew rapidly in numbers, and this inspired Killio to write a new rap which he named Driter i det (I Don't Care), a lyrical attack on everybody that has ever critizised him or called him or his friends bad names. This song was radically different from Tilbake, with its dark lyrics and gangster inspired beats. After the release of this song, Killio announced that he is working on his debut album, and that he hopes for this to be ready for the market sometime during fall, 2007.
Killio is often referred to as one of Norways most original rappers, but due to him not having released an album, he has yet to appear on any hit charts. Despite this, he has been quoted saying that he will:
Become Norways greatest rapper in few years, no matter how much hardship I must endure in getting to the top.
Influences
In the song, Driter i det, Killio namedrops some of his biggest influences, stating that Onkel P, another successful rapper from Norway, is his biggest idol. Tupac, 50 Cent, The Game and Eminem are also som of the rappers that have inspired Killio's lyrics and beats.
