KIIT FEST
KIIT FEST is the University festival of KIIT University, Bhubaneswar held during the month of February. The KIIT FEST is held for 3 days coinciding with Valentine's Day. It is a defining platform for students to showcase their skills and develop their potential. It is the first and the largest of its kind in east-India. The fest is organized over 25 acre area campus accommodating 20 sprawling campuses. More than 22,000 students enrolled into 100 different academic programs of KIIT group participate in the fest along with students from different parts of the country having diverse background, nationalities and culture. It organises workshops for the inquisitive minds, robotics events for the technical aficionados, app-making events for the Computer Geeks, structural challenges for the civil engineers, business-plan marathons for the management gurus, competitive debates, dance, drama and quizzing events for the artists and unwinding cultural shows for the freewheelers. It also inculcates social aspects like genome testing, dental & medical Check-ups for free.
Events
The fest consists for several competitive events like Does Grey Matter? (a techno-biz quiz), Surabhi (a M.E.L.A.S. quiz), Bridge-o-mania, Ninaad, Nukkad Natak, Hocus Focus, Dramatics, Splash, Vertigo, DoTA, Kodathon, Konverto, and cultural NiGHTS.
Pro Nites
The evenings are notable for the "Pro-Nights", more commonly known as Star-Nights — the biggest events in KIIT Fest which usually involve live concerts by some of the most famous musicians and bands of national and international acclaim. All the Star Nights are free to attend for any student of the institute and all registered participants. The genres of music are wide and varied and involve pop, rock and fusion bands. The venue for these events is the KIIT Student Activity Center (KSAC), Open Theatre Koncord Stage and KIIT Auditorium's which usually get packed to their full capacity during the Star-Nights, with crowds of up to 30,000 people. Famous Indian artistes like KK (singer), Karan Oberoi, Kunal Ganjawala, Ash King have performed here. The latest edition will host Sun burn.
