Khalid Nasser Alrazooqi
Khalid Nasser Alrazooqi is the General Director of Smart Services for the Dubai Police Force and the Assistant Director of Information Technology at the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai.
Early life and education
Alrazooqi was born and raised in Dubai. In 1993, he joined the Dubai Police Force and then was sent to study in the United States. Alrazooqi attended Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri until he graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. He graduated from Webster University in 1999 with a Master's degree in Computer Resources and Information Management.
Career
When Alrazooqi returned from his studies in the US he became a system administrator in 1999 at Dubai Police. Later, he was named Assistant Director General in Charge of Information Technology at the Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD) where he helped introduce services such as the e-Gate passport service and the first mobile visa kiosk in Dubai.
In 2007, Alrazooqi was asked to join the General Directorate for Residency and Foreigner Affairs (GDRFA) as Assistant Director-General of e-Services. Since his appointment in 2007, Alrazooqi has supervised all of the General Department’s projects and innovative services, which exceeded 168 services that contribute to customers’ satisfaction. That includes supervising the modification and development of the UAE e-Gate Systems (operating in Dubai Airports for over 100 electronic gates), and the introduction of Google Glass. In 2013, Alrazooqi was recognized with IDC’s Middle East Best Innovative Project of the Year award.
