KEVI Radio is a term describing the music and news reports provided to the King Edward VI School Lunch Halls. KEVI Radio broadcasts to Morpeth and the surrounding areas on 87.7Mhz 24Hrs.

The idea started back in the 1985 with Mr Barry White (the current AV Technician) however the idea was shelved, being thought unviable. The idea of KEVI Radio was again bought back in 2001 with Mr White and Mr J. Hughes (Student) whom then became the Station Manager in 2002. Mr Hughes started creating the foundations of the modern station with Mr J. White i.e. building up studio equipment. A Link with Lionheart radio a Community Station in Alnwick was formed.

Broadcasting started in March 2003 under Station Manager James Roxburgh and Deputy Station Manager Phillip Wright who were students and KEVI Radio "Your School Station for More Music" moved into its current premises of the Old Green Rooms, from the then Television and Audio Visual on B Floor. In this year their website was launched at www.keviradio.com.

In 2005 there was a new Station Manager in Nick Woolley as Jonathan Hughes left KEVI Radio. Dave moved into the Programme Controllers position. Robert Pobjoy became Deputy Station Manager and his main responsibility was to overhaul the station's sound and image. In March 2005 KEVI Radio launched its new Jingle and Ident package from Devaweb, the production company based in London and Dallas. The station also introduced Sound Sequencer automation and Live assist. KEVI Radio ditched its old Castle Logo to reveal a more modern KEVI Radio logo, and the website also had an overhaul. KEVI Radio was modernised and bought up to the present day. In July, Robert became Acting Station Manager, Phillip Wright left KEVI Radio, and Robert took on the full role as Station Manager in September 2005. KEVI Radio had to buy new equipment at this point as CJ ate all of it for lunch. Deputy Station Manager post was filled by Johnathan Hindhaugh in September, with Nick Coon assisting him in this role. Lydia Hill took the role as KEVI Radio's Programme Controller.

In 2005, KEVI Radio continued to broadcast and the stations profile was raised within the area. Educational and Entertainment Podcasting was going to be introduced in March 2006, however plans needed more work, and this never took place as KEVI Radio looked onto the greater task of Providing their first 24/7 FM Broadcast to South East Northumberland. In March 2006, KEVI Radio launched its Your Music, Your Way scheme where they asked listeners to log onto the website, and take an audio survey so the station is able to adapt its music policy and image further. The Your Music Your Way confirmed that KEVI Radio's target audience wanted more Charv beats.

In July 2006, the Station had one of its biggest organisational changes, with Danny Faggers taking on the role as Station Manager. The roles of Programme Controller (and Deputy), Administrator (and Deputy) were disposed of due to the fact they were outdated and no longer as relevant to the station. Nick Coon left KEVI Radio - to move into Theatre. Robert Nobjoy remained in KEVI Radio until July 2006 as he moved to become an assisting staff member alongside John White, where until October 2006 Robert left KEVI Radio to pursue other Media interests (most notably as a Director to Lionheart radio until July 2007, and now a freelance broadcast consultant). Robert continues to advise KEVI Radio, and provide web and interactive services as well as assist in future Restricted Service Licence broadcasts.

In September 2006, KEVI Radio completed its first RSL (or Restricted Service Licence) to broadcast on 107.6Mhz throughout South East Northumberland for 6 Days.

The broadcast is to be repeated on 87.7Mhz from Monday the 24th of September to Friday the 28th 2007. Again, the station will broadcast 24Hrs within a five mile radius of the school.
