Kayane Kouzoujian

KK, (born Kayane Kouzoujian on March 28, 1989) an Armenian film maker, musician, photographer, and writer based in Qatar.

Born in Aleppo, Syria and named after a saint who was stoned to death in 301B.C. for not following the king and converting to atheism. Kayane grew up to her dad's readings of history as bedtime stories. At the age of 9, not only did she make her first Turkish coffee; She also performed solo several times at that young age. At 10, she won her first stamp design competition. At the age of 12 she was invited by the spanish ambassador to perform on the national Spanish day. At 16 she wrote her first official movie script and won an award for designing the Qatar Academy yearbook. And since then Kayane has presented many times in notable places, like for example on-site in the Sistine chapel ceiling and in front of Rameses III's tomb.

This year (2009) you can see her present Mira Nair at the Icograda design conference happening at Virginia Commonwealth University, Qatar.
