Karlos Linazasoro
Karlos Linazasoro (born 4 November 1962 Tolosa, Gipuzkoa), is a Spanish writer who writes in Euskara. He is librarian of the Municipal Library of his native town of Tolosa.
Life
He is the son of the writer Iñaki Linazasoro. He graduated in philology from the University of Deusto.
His work includes poetry, short story, children's stories, theater and opinion articles. Weekly publishes a column in El Diario Vasco He began his literary career in 1991, in three different genres, in poetry with Udazkeneko karabana erratua, in novel with Eldarnioak, and in children's literature with Besterik gabe. His style is very varied, often resorting to humor and the absurd; he also has reflective texts on life and death. In 2005, he published his first anthology of narrative in Castilian titled Illegal Deposit, a selection of Ipuin errotikoak and Ez balego beste mundurik, translated by Gerardo Markuleta and published by the publishing house Alberdania.
Years later he published a poetry anthology also Castilian titled Llueve always and is not in vain, a selection of poems and translations published by the Catalan publishing house Oblicuas and that gathers poems of three books previously published, The hands of the rain, Temporal, and Today is Now forever.
Awards
He won the Euskadi Prize for Literature in 2001, in children's and youth literature with the book Bota gorriak (2000) that later was translated into different languages: The red boots (2001) in Castilian; Les botes roges (2000) in Catalan.
