Karl Infanger

Karl Infanger (born May 17, 1975) is a former professional ice hockey defenceman who played parts of three seasons in the ECHL with the Wheeling Nailers, Mississippi Sea Wolves, and Johnstown Chiefs from 1997–98 to 2000–01.

Infanger is currently the head coach of the Natick High School hockey program.

Playing career

Infanger grew up in Billerica, Massachusetts where he played four years of hockey with Billerica Memorial High School. As a Division 1 high school player in the Merrimack Valley Conference, he was honored as Defenseman of the Year and was selected to The Boston Globe's All-Scholastic Hockey Team. Following high school, Infanger attended Merrimack College where he played four years of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college with the Merrimack Warriors men's ice hockey team. Infanger made his professional debut with the Wheeling Nailers of the East Coast Hockey League in 1997. He compiled 60 points and 173 career penalty minutes in 137 ECHL games played. He also played in 33 playoffs ECHL games where he scored a total of 12 points with another 22 minutes in penalties.

  • Twice selected to the Hockey East All-Academic Team
  • Member of the 1999 ECHL All-Star Team
  • Won the Kelly Cup as a member of the Mississippi Sea Wolves 1998–99
