Kanpe Haïti
Kanpe Haïti is a non-denominational, non-political French association for humanitarian aid with charitable status as defined by French law (La Loi de 1901.:fr:Association loi de 1901 N° W751203467). '''
Kanpe Haïti – meaning stand-up Haiti in Haitian Creole - is run by an Administrative Council with previous experience in helping a variety of structures for children in Haiti, particularly in Port-au-Prince. Kanpe Haïti is already supporting small-scale, manageable and replicable schemes to contribute to the country's long-term progress.'''
Projects include assisting psycho-educative structures that welcomes street children (mainly adolescents), ‘restaveks’ (those who rest with their ‘masters’) and children working in the [...] trade (‘lapoussa’: ils sont la pour ça). The association is also working with several schools and places working computers (donated by firms and other computer users in France and elsewhere), into educational structures in Port-au-Prince. Members of Kanpe Haïti are regular visitors to Haiti (members of the Administrative Council flew to Port-au Prince on January 30 to see how the association can help in the wake of the earthquake).
The Patron of Kanpe Haïti is the French actor/director Lambert Wilson.
