Plot
Tore Forsman is an old man whom most people would call strange or even mad. All his life, he has kept something locked and sealed under his old house in the countryside. When he suddenly dies, a relative, Adam, makes a trip to the late Tore's cabin with two friends, Björn and Jens. The spirit of Tore is somewhere to be found, and that's a good thing, because something else is still waiting.
Movie & Lovecraft References
- The character name Love Halvén is an anagram for Halloween, one of Robert P. Olsson's favorite horror movies.
- The name of Tore Forsman's sister, Sonia, is a tribute to H. P. Lovecraft's wife Sonia Greene.
- Tore is talking about his old lost friend Holger Piil, also a reference to H. P. Lovecraft.
Production Notes
- One of the reasons for picking Rolf Bylund for the part of Tore was his resemblance to Robert Johansson, who played the same part in 13:de mars, 1941.
- Dead animals were used during the shooting of this movie, and the smell often gave the cast and crew trouble getting through scenes.
- The scenes in "the second room" at the library was shoot in an authentic library in the city of Karlstad, where the county's oldest books are kept.
