Kamal Public Sr. Secondary School

Kamal Public Senior Secondary School is run by Kamal Educational and Welfare Society in Vikas Puri, New Delhi. It is co-educational school and provides education from Pre School to Class XII. It is affiliated to CBSE and is recognized by Directorate of Education.

History

The foundation of Kamal Public Senior Secondary School was laid down in 1985 by Late Shri O.P. Tandon, a philanthropist who envisioned a school that would cater to the needs of the students of all stratas. The legacy still continues with Mrs. Kamal Rani Tandon, the founder and Chairperson of Kamal Group of Schools, has been the guiding light and a reckoning force behind all its achievements and the success story.

Infrastructure

The school is designed with various multi-storey buildings for Pre-School, Primary, Middle Wing and the Senior Wing. The classrooms are well equipped, spacious and well-ventilated. The school provides pick and drop facility to the students through school transport. On the second floor of the main building, there is a huge library with thousands of books along with a well equipped Computer Lab, Chemistry Lab, Biology Lab and Physics Lab. Smart Classrooms make the teaching learning process more interesting and students gain a lot of knowledge by the medium of audio-visual aids. The school premises are environmental friendly and fitted with RO Water Plant, power back-up, rain harvesting system etc.

1. Smart Classrooms - To make teaching learning process more interesting, audio-visual aids play a vital role. Smart Class is the most essential aspect of learning for the student of the upcoming generation. Students learn more quickly and easily by this medium. It takes the most difficult task into an easy & simplified one. It is put up in most of classrooms of the school.
2. Fitness Centre - In today’s world, everyone wants to be fit and healthy. The school helps keeping the child in proper shape and fitness by the medium of latest equipment provided by the gym of the school. The fitness centre comprises various kits, tools and machines.
3. Swimming Pool - School provides swimming pool facility to the students, that is, fitted with professional filtration plant with proper dosing of chlorine and maintenance of PH value of the water to ensure the pool is filled with purified water. Separate shower areas, changing rooms and locker facility are provided to the girls and boys.

Cultural Exchange Programmes

The school has undergone various cultural exchange programmes with the schools of Sri Lanka, Spain, Bangladesh, Pakistan etc. During these programmes, students gained knowledge about various cultural diversification, different folk dances, dresses, cuisines of Spain and Sri Lanka. For the practices to keep the global environment clean & green the school shared and practiced various activities with the schools of Sri Lanka. Through the medium of Skype video calling with the schools of Pakistan, students have shared perspective regarding their culture, food habits and environment. To inculcate global citizen skills among the students, the school is undergoing various cultural exchange programmes in the upcoming session.

Sports Activities

The school provides a separate and huge area for indoor and outdoor sports activities.

Clubs

National Cadet Corps (NCC): In order to make a student's life disciplined and refined, some practicea are required and such practice can be provided to the students through the medium of NCC at the school level. NCC not only teaches ‘Unity and discipline’ but also inculcates the feeling of patriotism among volunteers.

Competitions and Prizes

1. Zonal Competitions: Students participate in various literary and cultural competitions.
2. Anuvrat: Students exhibit their immense talent in Solo Song, Moral Singing and Painting Competitions every year in Anuvrat.
