Kakinada School of Preaching

The Kakinada School of Preaching, which was started in 1963, at Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, India, offers 2534 clock hours of teaching in Bible and Bible related subjects in a two year program. It is set up on a term plan, there being 12 weeks in each term and 15 weeks in the last term of each year of the 2 years program. This means that the school operates 3 terms in the first year as another 3 terms in the second year making it 6 terms in the two year program. It makes a total of 186 credit hour course.

Objectives

  • 1. To teach “faithful men who shall be able to teach others also” 2 Timothy 2:2.
  • 2. To provide each student with well rounded program of studies in Bible and related subjects and prepare them as Bible teachers and gospel preachers.
  • 3. To exalt the Bible as the verbally inspired word of God, perfect and complete without error or contradiction and to emphasize the word of God as the final authority in matters of faith and practice.
  • 4. To promote textual study of the Bible and to place great stress upon the Bible preaching in the pulpit.

Lectureship

Kakinada School of Preaching conducts annual Bible Lectureship which has been the biggest lectureship for the churches of Christ in India. Christians across the country attend the five day event. Great lessons are taught from the scriptures by the faithful brethren that come from various places. Faculty of the school and senior students also speak on the lectureship. Students take a big part in helping out organize the lectureship.

The 23rd Bible lectureship which concluded in January, 2007 was attended by over 3000 people.
