K-The Beats
Kehinde Komolafe Hammed (born 19 June 1996), professionally known as K-The Beats, is a Nigerian drummer and percussionist based in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
Early life and education
Kehinde Komolafe Hammed was born on 19 June 1996 in Lagos State, Nigeria. He is from Orile Agege Local Government Area of Lagos State. He attended Olabode College for his secondary education before enrolling at Olabisi Onabanjo University, where he studied Business Administration and Management. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2018. In 2022, he relocated to the United Kingdom to pursue postgraduate studies at Sheffield Hallam University. He completed a Master’s degree in Business Administration in 2024. He is resident in Sheffield, England.
Career
Kehinde began his professional career as a drummer and percussionist in 2019 under the stage name K-The Beats. One of his earliest public performances was at Gallant Winners Assembly in 2019. He later performed at Glorious Youth Ministries in 2021, alongside other cultural and entertainment events across Nigeria.
In June 2023, K-The Beats participated as a drummer at the Ilorin Emirate Durbar Festival. During the festival, he received recognition from the Kwara State Council for Arts and Culture for his participation and performance.
In 2025, he appeared at the Afro Night event held at +234 Lounge, where he performed traditional and contemporary African percussion.
In 2026, K-The Beats performed as a percussionist at the Black Pride Festival ATUPA, a festival celebrating African art, identity and culture. He also performed with the Aijidans Drumming Group at the launch of Adria Food Pharmacy during the cultural-themed event Cultural Food is Medicine.
Throughout his career, K-The Beats has been associated with performances that promote African drumming traditions and cultural heritage in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
