- Frontline public doctors are gearing up for industrial action, and have demanded that the Hospital Authority resolve within two weeks what they see as an unfair pay scale for some 2,000 doctors hired after year 2000.2

- The problem of triads infiltrating primary and secondary schools is serious, according to a survey. The poll, conducted last month by the pro-Beijing Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong, shows more than 20 percent of 524 students interviewed had schoolmates claiming to be triad members.3
