Jump Shopping
Jump Shopping is a South African Online Shopping search engine and directory.
Jump was first founded in October 1998 as a Search Engine. Jump evolved over the years, first becoming an online shopping website selling computer hardware and software. Due to tough competition the founders of Jump elected to change their business model again.
At the end of 2003, Jump Shopping took The Step of importing data from merchants making more products available to consumers, while still functioning as a traditional online shop. Jump Shopping’s range included everything from Flowers, Music, CD, Games, Wine as well as cigars. Agreements then in place included companies such as Digital Planet, Look and Listen and BT Games.
In 2006 Jump changed once again to become an Online Shopping Directory for South Africa. This directory currently lists just more than 600 online e-commerce enabled stores in South Africa.
