July 2022 Philadelphia shooting

On July 4, 2022, a shooting took place during an Independence Day fireworks show in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The shooting occurred around 9:47pm, shortly after the fireworks started. Two police officers were shot, but no one was killed. The shooting led the crowd of thousands of people to flee.
Aftermath
Both officers were released from the hospital early on July 5, with one officer being treated for a shoulder injury while the other was treated for a bullet grazing their head. Additionally on the 5th, the City of Philadelphia website put up a press release asking people in the area of 2500 Benjamin Franklin Parkway to submit tips to the Philadelphia Police Department via email.
In a news conference on July 6, the Chief Inspector reported that ballistics testing had confirmed that both of the bullets that stuck the officers came from the same gun. It was also believed that the shots came from a significant distance from where the officers were at.
The Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police issued a reward for information regarding the shooting on the 6th. The reward was increased by more than double the amount from donations from another union and from a former officer.
Earlier that day, there had been a mass shooting in Highland Park, Illinois.
Background
The Benjamin Franklin Parkway is a boulevard between the Philadelphia City Hall and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It had been closed off to traffic to allow pedestrians to view a concert and fireworks show on Independence Day.
