Judhajit Bagchi
Judhajit Bagchi a.k.a. Jeet (born 26 Oct 1981) is an Indian director, screenwriter, editor and producer. He began his career assisting the advertising guru Prahlad Kakkar. He co-directs with Ranadeep Bhattacharyya. In 2010 he made his first internationally acclaimed short film Amen (2010 film).
Judhajit is the first filmmaker from India whose corporate and marketing films have won the International Business Awards (Stevie Award) and Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards. Till now he is the only Indian filmmaker to win both the awards consecutively for two years (2015, 2016).
Early life
Judhajit was born in the historical city Serampore, West Bangal, India. After completing his Bachelors in Economics from Presidency College, Calcutta with a first class degree, he went on to post graduate in MS Communication from Manipal Institute of Communication. Judhajit's post-graduate dissertation titled Inclusive National Identity in Bollywood films: A Case Study of Swades submitted to the Manipal Institute of Communication in 2005 partially fulfilling the requirements for the post-graduate degree forms the background of the section The Cultural Aspect - Chapter 8: Towards a More Inclusive Indian Identity? A Case Study of the Bollywood Film Swades in the book Indian Media in a Globalised World.
After completing his studies he joined Genesis Films, Mumbai under the advertising guru Mr. Prahlad Kakkar and worked there for two years as his slave.
Career
Post Genesis he started writing and conceptualising television commercials for advertising agencies and independent production houses. In 2010 he opened his film production house Yaanus Films with Ranadeep Bhattacharyya and directed and produced their first short film Amen (2010 film) which went on to win the Best Indian Narrative Short at Mumbai Queer Film Festival, Mumbai, 2011.
Judhajit also freelances as an independent director and in that respect has made advertising films and brand films for Passion Film. In 2015 he won the Silver Dolphin at the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards for the Corporate Image Film for Shakti Bhog Foods Ltd. In 2016 he won his second Dolphin at the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards for the Marketing Film made for the Bareilly-based oil company B.L. Agro Oils. Both the films have also won the Gold Stevie Award at the International Business Awards (Stevie Awards).

Judhajit is also a photographer with his photography works being published in Heritage India Magazine & the award winning Maharashtra Unlimited magazine. He is also a Cinemagraph artist and is affiliated with Comealiveimages.com
