Joseph F. H. Cutrona

Brigadier General Joseph F.H. Cutrona (born March 8, 1920, † December 25, 2010 in Naples, Florida)

Cutrona commanded the 4th Armored Division when it liberated - together with the 89th Infantry Division - the Ohrdruf concentration camp. It was the first [...] concentration camp liberated by the US Army (details and sources see Ohrdruf concentration camp#Liberation).

Cutrona also served in Korea and in Vietnam.

He was executive director of the National Shippers Strategic Transportation Council from 1978 to 1998.

He was born in Naples, Florida, and went to West Point. During World War II, he led the 4th Armored Division when it helped free the Ohrdruf concentration camp. He also served in Korea and Vietnam.

After leaving the Army, he worked as the head of the National Shippers Strategic Transportation Council from 1978 to 1998. He also helped veterans’ groups and wrote about military history.

John Doe (1918–1985) served as a captain in the United States Army during World War II. He participated in the Normandy invasion and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service. After the war, he worked as a teacher in his hometown.
