Jose L. Reyes
Lieutenant General Jose L Reyes O-6444 AFP, the 28th Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force was born on February 3, 1951 at Banay Banay, San Jose, Batangas and is a top graduate of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1973. Following his graduation form the Philippine Military Academy (PMA), he joined the Philippine Air Force (PAF) to become a pilot and graduated from the Philippine Air Force Flying School (PAFFS) Class of 1975.
He has served in numerous positions, such as Commandant of the Philippine Air Force Flying School, Assistant Chief of Air Staff for Operations A-3, Chief of Air Staff, Wing Commander of 15th Strike Wing and as head of OJ5 and OJ6 respectively.
He is a Recipient of 43 Military Medals, most notable among which are 7 Distinguished Service Star (third highest military award), a Philippine Legion of Honor for his outstanding achievements as Commander of the 15th Strike Wing, 2 Distinguished Aviation Cross for outstanding display of airmanship during combat operations, 4 Bronze Cross Medals for heroic action performed during non-combat operations and 4 Military Merit Medals for gallantry in action during combat operations, among others. He is also recipient of the PMA Cavalier Award for Staff Function.
Lieutenant General Reyes also earned top honors in his military and civilian training. Besides Graduating number 4 in his class from the Philippine Military Academy, he is also a top graduate of the Defense Logistics Management Course and again number 4 in both his Command and General Staff Course and Basic Safety Officers' Course. He completed his Squadron Officers' Course and Academic Instructors' Course at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama.
LTGEN Reyes is married to Martina R Reyes and they have a son, Jose Reyes Jr, and daughter, Dr. Marjorie Reyes M.D.
