João Tiago da Silva Pereira
João Tiago da Silva Pereira (born 30 August 1985), also known as MINDSKAP, is a Portuguese DJ, producer and remixer.
Biography
MINDSKAP started out as a deejay playing at Central Club in Portugal, his home, in early 2000. He quickly gained popularity in the Portuguese dance scene. He has since played in clubs all over Portugal such as: Pedra do Couto, Vaticano Club, Maumau Club, Companhia, Mare Alta, and Swing Club, alongside some of the top international DJs. He fills his sets with progressive house, tech, and vocals.
In 2004 he took his first steps into production. In 2005, he was honored by Dance Club Magazine for his remix of "Its Alright I Need U" by Carlos Fauvrelle & Grand Master Tom on Lajja Recordings. He has since released projects on Yoshitoshi Recordings (Deep Dish), Stereo Productions (CHUS&CEBALLOS), and most recently on TKC Music (THAT KID CHRIS), with his remix of Sharp & Smooth’s "Ibiza", and an original collaboration with vocalist Lulu entitled "Wonderland"; both having spent numerous weeks on the Beatport Progressive chart.
Alter egos
In 2006 started his first alter ego "CASANOVA", an eclectic project which provides deep grooves, trance ambient sounds, melodies, smooth vocals and also movie soundtracks. One year later he started to sign his tracks/remixes with another alias "DUBTEK" which is a fusion of the other two projects. The difference between the main project (MINDSKAP) and the alias is all about the bpm (beats per minute).
Bestsellers
MINDSKAP's first release came out September 2006 "electric music" remix on RPO TRAXX, a French label from Rick Pier O'Neil and it reached Beatport 5position Progressive House in a few days, which is impressive for a producer that is starting a career. One year later he did it again but this time with a remix for YOSHITOSHI (DEEP DISH's label) and it reached the 4position of Progressive House top100.
