Jonathan Pearce (Jersey journalist)
Jonathan Justin Cecil von Percy'Jonny' Pearce is a Jersey journalist and musician.
Biography
Jonny Pearce, born 16th July 1981 in St Helier, Jersey currently works as a broadcaster and journalist for Channel 103.
He was educated at FCJ Convent school, Plat Douet, De La Salle College and read english and sports science at Liverpool John Moores University, graduating with Upper second class honours degree.
Journalism
His initially gained experience as a sports reporter for the Jersey Evening Post before reporting on the World Bowls Tour for syndication in 2005.
In 2005 he joined the Jersey Evening Post on a full time basis. During his time at the paper he had two stories taken up by the Sunday Times. . The story dealt with a landmark [...] case . The story was also rewritten as an article for a UK monthly magazine.
Jonathan Pearce has the dubious honour of being the only Jersey Evening Post reporter to have been arrested whilst undertaking his work.
In 2007 move into broadcast working for independent radio station Channel 103 both writing and presenting news stories.
Music
Jonny is a performing MusicAL clown, and is available for childrens parties. He had a regular weekly spot at the Aurora public house through the summer of 2006 and has also performed in venues in Leeds and Liverpool.
Charity Work
In 2006, Jonny Pearce took part in an Overseas Aid mission to Colombia where he helped with the construction of an extension to a hospital.
He is also a dedicated "Gay Rights" activist and will be performing in the 2008 Mardi Gras in Sydney.
Hobbies
Jonny is a keen hunter, he can often be caught sniffing out his prey in his local town St Helier. He frequently plays football for Beeches Old Boys and is also an excellent climber. He once attempted Le Marias flats in 2006, as he was told there was a fiver at the top.
