John Theodore-Edevu
John Theodore-Edevu (born November 9, 1988) is a Cyprus TV host, producer, actor and speaker. The first ever black and foreign TV host in Cyprus. He was the producer and presenter of "Theodore's TV Show" and "Cyprus in the Spotlight". Both shows telecasted on "Channel T (Kanal T)", a satellite TV Channel in Cyprus.
Theodore-Edevu speaks English, Turkish and some Nigerian languages fluently. He also knows some French, and a little of Greek, and Spanish. He is known by the pseudonym Bafidi Metin translated in English as Paphian Metin by Cypriot people and Adanali Metin translated in English as Metin from Adana by Turkish people in Cyprus. He has traveled across over 10 countries in 3 continents and have met people from over 50 countries of all the continents. Theodore-Edevu started traveling internationally when he was almost 18. His first International trip was to the republic of Ghana.
Early life
Theodore-Edevu was born on November 9, 1988 in Delta State, Nigeria. He was born of multilingual parents. His father, Joseph Okpisi Edevu, is a retired businessman who owned a company known as Edevson Commercial Limited, a chain of businesses. His mother, Susanna Edevu, is a poultry owner. He is the 4th of 7 children. He also have some step brothers. His father's business deals with distribution of Electronics and production of polythene bags. He got so expose to several foreign contacts at a very tender age because his father's business employed a lot foreigners.
After his Elementary and High school education, he ventured into network marketing business of "Golden Neo-Life Diamite (GNLD)" where he met a Ghanaian known as Dr. Fred Agogo-Mawuli who first took him out of the shores of his home country Nigeria to Ghana. While in Ghana, he worked as his personal assistant for some time. He was later introduced to a Scottish Physicist and a Bishop known as Dr. Douglas Jarvie of blessed memory and Dr. Richards Innocent a Nigerian Archbishop who came to Ghana for some official assignments whom he would later work as their personal assistant simultaneously all through their stay in Ghana. His trip to Ghana also paved way for him to be able to travel to other countries.
He moved to Nicosia, Cyprus in 2012 with the aid of Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, the president of the Christian Association of Nigeria and Comrade Oyibo, the then chairman of Sapele Local Government Area where he got registered in Cyprus International University as a student of International Relations. He also worked as a producer and TV Presenter for two TV Shows; "Theodore's TV Show" and "Cyprus In The Spotlight" which telecasted in "Channel T (Kanal T)". In 2014, he relocated to the United States. He lived in Parkville, Missouri where he had a brief stint at Park University, majoring in International Politics. He moved to New York before he finally moved to Washington, DC. He is currently writing and preparing for a new TV program in America. He also have a keen interest for the United Nations and he is aspiring to be a Diplomat.
Education
After his Elementary and High school education in Nigeria, he moved to Nicosia, Cyprus in 2012 where he got registered in Cyprus International University as a student of International Relations. He have also Undergone training on Peace Journalism, Education in Conflict;Conflict in Education and How to deal with stereotype when dealing with sensitive issues. courtesy the "Center For Global Peace Journalism", Council of Europe, "Home For Corporation" and "Association For Historical Dialogue and Research".
In March 2014, he met a Peace Journalism expert and a communications professor at Park University during the Peace Journalism training held in Cyprus who facilitated his relocation to the United States few months later. He lived in Parkville, Missouri where he had a brief stint at Park University, majoring in International Politics. He lived in New York while he was preparing to finally move to Washington, DC where he always wanted to live. He love Washington, DC because it is the city for Government officials and Diplomats. He is planning to enroll in one of the DC's internationally acclaimed best Universities for international affairs studies and diplomacy.
Career

Upon returning home, he was made a Public relations officer of Delta South Youth Coalition (DELSOYOCON) Delta State, Nigeria.
In 2012, Theodore moved to Nicosia, the capital city of Cyprus, and got admitted in Cyprus International University. He had a keen interest of working in TV and media. Therefore, he voluntarily started visiting TV Channels to discuss his idea of starting a unique TV Show which some never bought. After mere few weeks of struggle, in November 2012, he got his breakthrough as a presenter and co-producer of the program, "Theodore’s TV Show", on "Channel T". The program featured Theodore as the presenter, who would conduct interviews and short conversations, with people on the streets and strategic locations in Cyprus. They would talk about cultures, history, personal life and so on. The program was a hit and continued airing till December 2013.
In the same year, he made his acting debut in Saka Geliyor Gemez, a Cyprus comedy series. Due to his popularity, he was invited to co-host other TV programs on regular basis in Cyprus.
In January 2014, Theodore produced and hosted another program, "Cyprus In The Spotlight". The show focused on the culture, people and places of Cyprus and worked towards promoting them. It featured interviews, event cover reports, travel guides and so on. The program was telecasted in 3 languages- English, Greek and Turkish. The program stopped airing by July 2014 when he was set to leave Cyprus. He have appeared on Cyprus leading broadcast and print media either for interview or news publication such as Bayrak, Star Kibris, Cyprus Today, "Channel T", "Halkin Sesi" amongst others.
Currently, Theodore-Edevu lives in The United States of America where he is writing scripts and preparing for his new TV Show. The program will feature tourists and foreigners living in America. The details of the show are yet to be announced. He has made several connections since he arrived in the United States including the mayors of Kansas City, Sly James and that of Parkville, Nan Johnston. Theodore-Edevu is also aspiring to be a Diplomat after the completion of his education in international affairs studies. A dream he has being nurturing since his childhood.
Social involvement
John Theodore-Edevu is an advocate of peace. He has been a member of "Global Peace Journalism" from March 2014 till date. The group combines the aspects of peace and ethical journalism, and promotes it.
He has also been the board member of "Association for Historical Dialogue and Research" from October 2013 till date. The association works to promote safe practices and freedom in teaching and learning history. He is as well a member of Model United Nations till date.
