John Dwyer (Musician)

John Dwyer is a guitarist/vocalist who has been in a number of bands in both Providence, RI and San Francisco, CA. These bands have ranged from noisy garage rock (Coachwhips, The Hospitals) to experimental folk-pop (The Ohsees (aka OCS)) and "gay" German techno (Zeigenbock Kopf). In concert, Dwyer is a great presence; Pink and Brown, Coachwhips, and The Hospitals made a habit out of setting up anywhere EXCEPT the stage, resulting in a very intense show. Depending on what you believe, Dwyer has been seen playing on top of arcade games, washing machines, racks of CDs, and once at a bus stop down the street from the club. For Pink and Brown and Coachwhips, Dwyer got his distinctive vocal sound by singing through a telephone mouthpiece 1. His first projects in the late 1990s (OCS, Pink and Brown, Landed, The Netmen) were associated with the notorious Fort Thunder art collective.

He also played drums for The Troggs cover band The Trawggs and Revenge SF (aka Revenge).

After leaving Narnack Records, Dwyer started Castle Face Records in 2007, the first release was Sucks Blood by The Ohsees.
