John David Cameron
John David Cameron is a producer, military advisor, writer and artist The younger brother of filmmaker James Cameron. John served with distinction in the USMC and received an honourable discharge after six years with the rank of sergeant
James Cameron said he was inspired to include Marines in his movie because of his brother’s own service in the Marine Corps. John David Cameron joined the Corps in 1985, fought in Operation Desert Storm and most recently worked as a consultant on “Avatar"
In 1998 John and James Cameron formed a digital media company, earthship.tv which became Earthship Productions The company produced live multimedia documentaries from the depths of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Projects included Last Mysteries of Titanic, Aliens of The Deep, and Ghosts of The Abyss. In 2001 earthship.tv produced the first dual high definition broadcast over the Internet
Social Activism
John Cameron is a committed social activist supporting educational, environmental and health related causes.
1999 - Devoted both time and resources to being actively involved with the, Blue Planet Marine Research Foundation which is dedicated to saving wildlife along the California coast.
2011 – Recently elected to the Board of Directors’ of the Fire Services Training Institute, a California non-profit providing firefighter training and safety programs throughout the state
2011 – Forming the “Human Health Organization,” in collaboration with Seamus Blackley and Ryfka Ellen Taylor. The HHO is dedicated to raising the consciousness and awareness of tobacco related illness.
