John Cundiff

John Cundiff (born 1944) is an American business coach and consultant, and is the founder and president of Market Advantage Technologies Inc., he is also the head coach of Tribal Equity. John Cundiff has been sought by many leaders as their personal and business coach.

Early life

Born in 1944 in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the oldest of the 5 children. He grew up in California outside Sacramento, in the central valley. He started his career in navy but due to his caliber, was among the very few who made it to the Naval Academy from the Enlisted Grade. He did not pursue this career after the expiration of the enlistment and went on to study Anthropology, the study of man, at the University of Arizona. After completing his studies he went to various parts of the world and studied different cultures and civilizations and behaviours of people. Among his many experiences and sundry skills includes the skill of martial arts. He has a black belt in Tai Kwan Do.

Career

John Cundiff did not take long to realize that the study of human behaviour and cultures should not be restricted to published papers and books but they should improve the organizational performance and enhance its utility. Hence he began his career as a business coach and consultant which was a strange idea back then but is now a common profession. In the 70s, he began to work as a partner in a BMW motorcycle shop and also conducted many bike trips which were filmed by the local TV station. From there he learned the basic components of a business (sales, parts and services) and used that knowledge to be a manager in a chain of dental offices. As a dental management consultant he had his offices throughout southern California. In the 80s, he went to Silicon Valley to peek into the computerization of the world to study its affect on human and organizational performance.

Market Advantage Technologies Inc.

This experience was then used to coach executives and their teams on how technology can be incorporated in the business to add efficiency. In 1992 he founded Market Advantage Technologies Inc., and is the current president and owner of the firm. He has worked for hundreds of companies and thousands of clients internationally in USA, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia.
