John Clarence Lincoln

John Lincoln (born November 24, 1958) is an American Senior Vice President – Small and Medium Businesses in Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat) and also an author. He is known for his book “Connect the dots” a playbook for the entrepreneurs to survive and flourish in business.

Early Life and background

John Lincoln was born in Malaysia on 24 November 1958. He emigrated to San Francisco, California in 1989 and is right now a naturalized US Citizen. He then moved to Golden Gate University, San Francisco, United States for MBA and Master of Science in Telecommunication.

Career

John Lincoln began his professional career in Telecommunication in Pacific Bell (now AT&T) and quickly climbed the professional ladder becoming a Senior Manager of strategy. From that point on, he held positions at different media telecommunication organizations in United States, Japan, UK, Thailand, Malaysia. Lincoln held the position of the Director of Corporate Development in AirTouch Communications in 1996. Later, he was in charge of handling segmentation, analytics, insights and business insight overall specialty units in Airtel.

Since 2008 September, John has been in U.A.E. where he has worked for both the major Telecommunication companies, Du and Etisalat in different positions such as Vice President – B2B Marketing (Du), Senior Vice President - Business Marketing (Etisalat). In April 2016, he was appointed as a member of the board of directors of Smart World representing Etisalat.

Publication

John published his book, “Connect the dots” based on his personal experience of investing USD 600,000 into his business, which was not successful and needed to close after 1 and half years. This experience established the framework for his book which was released in 2012. Connect the dots had many prominent reviews on Gulf News and The National and is focused on SME's for helping them deal with variations they confront in their business operations.
