John Chizoba Vincent
John Chizoba Vincent (born May 18, 1990) is a Nigerian filmmaker. He was born and raised in Aba, Abia State, Nigeria. Later he moved to Lagos, where he pursued his tertiary education and established much of his creative career. He is from Nkporo in Ohafia, Abia state. He is a graduate of Mass Communication from Lagos State University of Science and Technology.
Early Life
John Chizoba Vincent was born in 18 May, 1990 in Aba, Abia state, where he was raised by his entrepreneur parents. He spent part of his childhood between Aba and Nkporo. Chizoba had his Primary education briefly at Owerri -Aba Community school and later moved to His Image Nursery and Primary School, Aba, where he completed his Primary School education. He had his secondary education at Major Model school, Aba and then, Olorunfumi Senior Grammar School, lagos and Graduated from Lagos state University of science and Technology.
Career
Vincent gained recognition as a poet, with his works published across various platforms, including Libretto Magazine, Punch, Africritik, Kalahari Review, Poem Hunter, Tuck Magazine, Best Poem encyclopedia and Opinion Nigeria. His poetry often explores Nigerian identity, social justice, and human vulnerability, earning him accolades within literary circles. He was shortlisted by EGC as one of Nigeria’s notable poets in 2017, 2018, and 2019. He has authored several books and poetry collections which including: Hard Times, Good Mama, Letter from Home, For Boys of Tomorrow. He is the editor of "Boys Are Not Stones" Anthology, an anthology created to celebrate boys and men alike. They have four collections in the series which includes: Boys are Not Stones, Anatomy of Boys, Men and Others, Country of Broken Boys and Demigods.. Vincent contributed in the book, wreath for a wayfarer, a book published in honour of Pius Adesanmi and 84 Delicious bottles of Wine for Wole soyinka in celebration of his 84 birthday.
John Chizoba Vincent’s is the founder of The Philm Republic, an independent production outfit. Some of the films he has written includes: Love In The Strangest Place, To Love A Street Girl, Love Birds, Pride and Seduction, Differences, Married To An Influencer, When Life Happens, Love and Respect and others.
