John Bushore

John Bushore (born 1947) is a novelist and short story writer of speculative fiction and has also published poetry. His science fiction - suspense novel, Friends In Dark Places was published in 2006. A three-time winner of the James B. Baker Award (2002, 2004, and 2005), his stories and poems have appeared in magazines such as Aoife's Kiss, The Martian Wave and Alienskin. He has also been published in anthologies such as Beneath the Surface, New Writings in the Fantastic, and both editions of Exotic Gothic, textbook anthologies used in college classes on Gothic and Horror Literature.

He also writes for children as "MonkeyJohn," the author of the fantasy poetry book What's Under The Bed? and The Spacemonkey Adventures, serialized in the quarterly Beyond Centauri magazine.

He lives in Virginia, on the edge of the Great Dismal Swamp, with his wife, Diane. He has a son and a daughter, both adults.
