John Bernard Meyer
John Bernard Meyer (born July 22 1933) is a retired journalist. Meyer worked as a CBS News Correspondent in the CBS Washington news bureau for between 1964 and 1975. He appeared regularly on the CBS Evening News, Face The Nation and other CBS Television news broadcasts, and anchored Washington Week and Capitol Cloakroom on CBS Radio as well as CBS Radio Network national hourly newscasts. He left CBS in 1975 to join the Mutual Broadcasting System, and left broadcasting in 1978 to become national director of communications for the General Aviation Manufacturers Association. He become corporate director of public relations for Learjet in 1981, moving to a corporate managerial position with AlliedSignal Aerospace (now Honeywell International) in 1985. He retired in 1998.
I had the priviledge of serving in the U. S. Army at Ft Leonard Wood, Mo. 1954-1955 at the base radio station KFLW with John B Meyer. He was the station manager and I was Station engineer.
