History
JL McGregor & Company was founded in 2006 by James McGregor, author of One Billion Customers: Lessons from the Front Lines of Doing Business in China. McGregor is former bureau chief of the Wall Street Journal in China and Taiwan and CEO of Dow Jones & Company in China. In July 2008, Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) made a significant investment in the company. In connection with this investment, Goldman Sachs now offers JL McGregor & Company's products and services to Goldman Sachs clients.

James McGregor
James McGregor is chairman and CEO of JL McGregor & Company. Previously, Mr. McGregor was CEO of Dow Jones & Company in China, bureau chief for the Wall Street Journal in China and Taiwan, and the China managing director for GIV Venture Partners. He has served as a China advisor for dozens of multinational corporations and investment funds. He was also chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in China. Mr. McGregor is author of the acclaimed bestseller, One Billion Customers:Lessons from the Front Lines of Doing Business in China.
William C. McCahill, Jr.
With a distinguished career in the U.S. Foreign Service beginning in 1975, William C. McCahill, Jr., is an authority on Chinese Government and Politics. As chargé d'affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, Mr. McCahill played a key role in concluding the 1999 WTO U.S.-China Bilateral Trade Agreement. He also led political, commercial and economic efforts in Hong Kong and Beijing as Sino-American diplomatic relations were normalized and China's economic reforms began. Before joining JL McGregor & Company, Mr. McCahill was the senior international business advisor of the law firm WilmerHale, where he helped foreign companies overcome the challenges and complexities of doing business in China.
Matt Comyns
Matt Comyns develops corporate strategy and oversees operations at JL McGregor & Company. He served previously on the executive team of CNET Networks, where he was senior vice-president and publisher of the company's news division, advising on strategic investments, custom advertising deals and content-licensing for the company's business development team. Mr. Comyns is the founder of BlackInc Ventures, an Internet-focused advisory firm with offices in New York and San Francisco, and a founding member of the Online Publishers Association.He was also sales manager for Dow Jones & Company in Hong Kong and Beijing.
