Jim Calire
Jim Calire was a founding member of the Buffalo, New York band THE RISING SONS. The Rising Sons was his first band.

At the breakup of Stan and the Ravens, a Buffalo, New York favorite, two members of that group (Gary Mallaber and Tommy Calandra) joined the RISING SONS.

THE RISING SONS soon became the house band at the legendary Harry Altman's Glen Park Casino, which was called the "Inferno".
In 1966 THE RISING SONS changed their name to Raven (U.S. band) and moved from Buffalo to New York City. Their manager at the time was Marty Angelo who asked Jimi Hendrix to help him get the band a gig at Steve Paul's Scene. They appeared at other well known venues in and around New York before touring England in 1970. RAVEN (U.S. band) split up on their return to the U.S. George Harrison of the Beatles wanted to produce the band for Apple Records. The group turned him down and instead signed with Columbia Records.

RAVEN (U.S. band) became the house band at The Scene in New York and appeared at numerous NYC night spots including: the Fillmore East, Electric Circus, Unganos, and many more.
Side note: During his tenure with Raven (U.S. band) Janis Joplin approached Jim Calire AbOUT joining her band, BIG BROTHER & THE HOLDING COMPANY, she was politely turned down.
