Jessica Verday
Jessica Verday (born July 26, 1982) is an American author. Her debut novel, The Hollow is the first in a trilogy. The Hollow is slated to be released from Simon Pulse in the Fall of 2009, The Hollow book 2 and book 3 are slated to follow in the Falls of 2010 and 2011 respectively. The Hollow series follows Abigail (Abbey) Browning through her junior and senior years of high school in the famed town of Sleepy Hollow where the death of her best friend is the catalyst to a life determining journey that she travels with CASPIAN, a mysterious, broody boy that's a little more than normal.
Jessica designed the backdrop for her three-book series loosely based on The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving, 1820. Characters from the original legend inspired many aspects of the novels including the main character's affection for the author
Teen runaway
In 1998, Jessica left her home in Pennsylvania on a Greyhound bus bound for Austin, Texas. After returning home, she married her high school sweetheart at the ripe old age of 16. Eight years later, she began writing THE HOLLOW. A year and a half later she signed with Rachel Vater at Folio Literary Management. Her debut novel sold at auction to Simon Pulse in a World English deal.
