A [[Republican Party (United States)|Republican]], he announced his candidacy for the [[Governor of Delaware]] in the 2012 elections. ==Early life and career==
Jeff was born in Evanston, Illinois. He graduated from New Trier High School and then attended Carleton College, where he played football. He graduated from Carleton in 1983 with a Bachelor of arts in Economics. He went on to work for Provident Indemnity Life, which he brought into profitability.{{citation needed|date=August 2012}} He moved to Delaware in 1991 where he went on to work for multiple insurance companies.
