Jeandre Gaffoor

Jeandre Gaffoor (born 17 june 2005- 01 February 2026) was a South African soccer player whose career and life were tragically cut short in early February 2026.

Early life and career

Jeandre Gaffoor was born on 17 June 2005 in South Africa. He developed his skills from a young age and was identified early as a talented midfield player. Gaffoor joined the youth academy of Cape Town Spurs (formerly Ajax Cape Town) at around 11–12 years old.

Gaffoor primarily played as a central midfielder, but was also capable of filling roles in central defense or as a left-back, reflecting his tactical flexibility and technical ability.

Cape Town Spurs

He spent the majority of his development and early senior career at Cape Town Spurs, one of South Africa’s recognized development-focused clubs. Although he did not make a first-team league appearance with the Spurs, he had been promoted to the senior squad before moving on.

Stellenbosch FC (DStv Diski Challenge)

Following Cape Town Spurs relegation from the top flight, Gaffoor signed with Stellenbosch FC in 2025 to play for their DStv Diski Challenge team.

Death

On 1 February 2026, Jeandre Gaffoor’s death was confirmed by his agency, and later by the former club Cape Town Spurs.
