Jayanti Prasad Tiwari

Jayanti Prasad Tiwari was a freedom fighter from Uttar Pradesh. Born in the village of Bandanpur to a poor Brahmin family, he helped many freedom fighters hide and escape from the British. At a young age, he moved to Ahmedabad in 1932 and got the opportunity to work with Rustomji Cama, a famous name of Ahmedabad. Jayanti Prasad was not able to study much and he thought to open a school in his village; he then started collecting donations from the rich people of Ahmedabad and then established and founded the Jansewa Ashram school in the village Bandanpur of Faizabad Uttar Pradesh.

He died in 1983 and he was closely associated with the Cama family till the end.

Today, in his memory, on March 28 on his death anniversary, people remember him in his school. It was a dream of Jayanti Prasad to have school as he was not able to study.

Jansewa Ashram is a very good school in Bandanpur and children from many communities study by the vision of Founder of Jansewa Ashram Jayanti Prasad Tiwari.

He was the person to take Mahatma Gandhi's ashes with Rustomji Cama in Ahmedabad.
