Javi Herrera

Batting for the Columbus Clippers at Frontier Field in 2008 Javier Herrera (born October 8, 1981 in Hialeah, Florida) is an American baseball catcher. Herrera throws and bats right-handed.

Career

Herrera played college baseball at the University of Tennessee.

Herrera was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in , and played Minor League Baseball for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, Lake County Captains, Kinston Indians, and Akron Aeros in the Indians organization. He was a non-roster invitee to spring training with the Indians in .

On June 9, 2007, he was traded to the Washington Nationals organization, and began the season with the Harrisburg Senators of the Double-A Eastern League before being called up to the Triple-A Columbus Clippers.
