Jason Berrent

Jason Berrent (born June 23, 1983) is an American performer.

A former gymnast and tumbler, with over 15 years experience, he competed at National and International levels for the United States while training at Capital Gymnastics National Training Center in Fairfax, VA.

He also went on to become a member of the U.S. National Team for Trampoline & Tumbling.

In 2002 Jason was awarded the USA Gymnastics Silver Medal in Tumbling, also winning the 2003 Canadian Cup along with many other awards.

Performance

After a full career in competitive sport Jason's talents led him to Cirque du Soleil''. In 2003, he joined the cast of Cirque's productionAlegria'' where he performed the acts: Fast Track and Power Track as well as playing characters and performing dance cues within the show.

Jason has performed at several major venues in New York City, Tokyo and London - including playing sell-out shows at London's Royal Albert Hall with a 5000+ audience capacity. After touring all over North America, Japan and Europe he finally completed his run with Alegria in May 2006.

Having over 1,000 shows under his belt, Jason was approached to audition for a lead role in Cirque du Soleil's new touring production KOOZA.

In the fall of 2006 he entered the creation process for the show KOOZA which opened in April of 2007. Working alongside director and writer David Shiner, Jason used his movement, dance and acrobatic abilities to create and originate the role of The Trickster.

You can now see him performing on the North American Tour of KOOZA. The tour includes stops in New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago.

Offstage, Jason is embarking on new creative projects.
